The Hero Fund was formed in 2008 to defray the sometimes overwhelming bills associated with owning a retired police canine service animal. 04/25/08 - The Hero Fund begins.

04/24/09 - The Plano Star Courier featured The Hero Fund story in an article - Page 1 and Page 2.

04/28/09 - The Hero Fund hosts its first public fundraiser. A chicken barbecue luncheon was held at the Plano Police Department and over $1400.00 was raised.

04/28/09 - Our tee shirt pre-sell campaign features a choice of two "Life is Great" designs on the front and personalized on the back with the organization's name, slogan, and webpage information.

05/14/09 - We now offer donation and bereavement certificates. We custom print each certificate based on the information you provide. Donation certificates are a great gift for those special occasions like weddings, birthdays, or "just because..." Bereavement certificates can help memorialize the passing of a loved one -- human or pet.  Consider making a donation today! Contact Heather Bowden for additional details.

05/26/09 - The tee shirts are in! We will have a few available for purchase on our webpage. Please check back soon for sizes and availability.

05/29/09 - We'd like to take a moment to recognize some of our generous friends who have given a monetary donation or supported the organization by participating in one of our fundraising events. We appreciate your support!!
